GAP super summer sale, where art thou?

I'm not a huge fan of shopping--I stopped enjoying the mall when the bookstores left--but in the past few days I've had to look for a few items. 1) Mochi ingredients, tools. I found sweet rice flour at both Obo's Oriental Grocery and the Deli/Grocery on 4th street by Casablanca. They sell it at the same price. I found cups that serve as good "mochi molds" at the Dollar Tree. 2) Sandals. My sandals that I bought 4 years ago are really getting too worn down. Last year, I thought I had to get new sandals since I could start feeling gravel through the thinner heel part of the sandals. But they lasted a year more, and now I can feel individual rocks pock through to my heel, and the slightest rain forces me to beware slipping. The Dollar Tree only had these weird plasticky sandals. Target had some ok sandals, but the good ones cost $10. I got my current sandals for like $2. sigh. I'll probably get the Dollar Tree sandals and see how my feet adapt. At $1, I don't see how I couldn't get at least my money's worth. 3) CDs, DVDs, Books--Borders is very nice--if I lived near it, I'd probably drop by every day. But with my current location, the Monroe County Public Library and the newly-annointed Herman B. Wells Library are very convenient. MCPL has a very good cd collection and their non-fiction books (arts, sports, even violin playing) are plentiful. HBWL has a great collection of foreign DVDs. When I went for the first time this summer, it seemed as if the collection had doubled in size, but probably most of the DVDs were old but constantly checked-out during the school year. 4) Food. Krogers. We saved $20 on food worth $60. 'nuf said. Oh that reminds me, we have cantalope. ttyl.
