Notes on Windows vs Mac

I'm at the library using Windows XP now--would go home but it started raining, B-town style--and I've noticed a few things about Windows. 1) Every instance of Internet Explorer loads sooooo slowly. Then again, maybe this is just IE, and Firefox for XP loads fine. Let me test...ok, Firefox loads fine. More complaints about IE though, about every time I load a site with links to other parts of the web, such as when I load my site and it has the iframe of links to the side that's hosted on mypage.iu.edu, I'm asked if I want to "trust" the external site. Yes, of course I do. I load the page again, and I'm still asked the same question. Wow, who knew computers had amnesia. Even clicking on the "IUCAT" button prompts a "do you want to trust this site?" popup. Arg...must be the new state of the art security features that Microsoft labored over for IE. If Firefox can blow IE out of the water by this much, this gives hope to all the Linux crazies. 2) Maybe I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again. The new iMacs (G5) are very noisy. This comes as little surprise. All the parts are packed so close together to achieve the desired iPod-like look. They're bound to heat up. The fan has to go nonstop, full blast to even keep an idling G5 at operating temperature. The iMacs collectively make enough noise to rival some laser printers! Buy the iBook, or better yet, hope an Intel-based Mac comes out early next year. On another note, I think I'm going to make a site about how to download anime. I've learned many tricks of the trade in the past half year (direct dls, bittorrent, irc, even AIM), so why not share with the newbies? I've yet to decide whether to make this simply a very long post on this blog, or to start a totally different site to host this information that is of the utmost importance. Leave suggestions for location, content, etc.
