Lotus Festival 2005

So after my Wonderlab shift, I wandered into the weekend retreat that is the Monroe Library and saw that they were recruiting volunteers for Lotus Fest 2005! So I turned in an application. I hope I get to be a volunteer. I'd get an awesome neon green tshirt and free admission for a night! Wooo! So on the application they ask Other than English, do you speak any langages? If yes, please list which languages and indicate your level of fluency (fair, good, very good, excellent)...Are you willing to serve as a translator?: I wanted to volunteer pretty badly, so the thought of *ehem* embellishing my language skills crossed my mind. But if I said I was excellent at Mandarin, Spanish, and Japanese they might make me the artist hospitality person for one of those Latin music groups. I might be able to understand what they'er saying, but my Spanish has dropped quite a bit since the days of Mrs. Eykamp. "La musica de ustedes...muy bien! Como...como asi la heaven!" Don't even get me started on my Chinese. And I only know little phrases in Japanese like idatakimasu (let's eat!), sugoi (amazing!), and OK (OK). So I just listed I'm fair at Mandarin and Spanish. But I would be willing to serve as a translator, because hey, that'd be fun as long as not too much is expected of my foreign language ability. Wanna volunteer too? Deadline for priority in scheduling is Aug 15 so hurry up! :)
