movies

since we've been snowed in, we're watching lots of videos Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - this is a well-done comedy/drama movie. Of course, being a guy, I probably didn't relate too well to the main characters, but w/e. Funny, unique movie none the less. 4/5 stars Rules of Attraction - if you anything like my mom, and feel queasy at movies with sex, drugs, and vulgarity, ("Sibo, these are bad people. Do you have friends like this?") avoid this movie. Well, this movie is pretty awful overall. Just avoid it regardless unless you have a strong like of movies that use sex, drugs, and vulgarity as a gimmick to act cool. 1/5 stars Equilibrium - what attracted me to this movie was its chemistry related title, haha. The cover of this action movie has ebert and ropert saying that this movie was better than the Matrix, haha. So why not give it a try? Well had this movie been first, it would have beat out the Matrix easily. But watching it now, it seems soooo cheesy. It is a lot like a mix of Brave New World (drugs), 1984 (thought police), and Matrix (kick ass kung fu action). Worth watching, I suppose. 3/5 13 Conversations About One Thing - awesome movie! Very poignant, with good use of irony and humor. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. It's got a flow somewhat like a mix of Amelie and Memento, but with a unique storyline. Watch it! 5/5 The Hebrew Hammer - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha. nuff said. 4.5/5 stars (anti-Semitics, need not watch) Magnolia - haven't watched this yet.
