too many bush-maniacs. must fight Why you should vote Kerry: Regarding Iraq: Kerry will not demoralize the troops if he is President. His anti-war rhetoric was directed against the way Bush carried out the war. Kerry believes in the Pottery Barn rule. We're in there, we made a mess, now we have to fix it. Regarding Kerry's "flip flopping" on certain issues (tax breaks and death penalty are two I know of): these issues are not super important are they? Kerry's stance on tax breaks is slightly more liberal than Bush's. His death penalty stance is still better than Bush's (if you are anti-death penalty). While critics will argue that Kerry goes with whatever is popular with his constituents at the moment, isn't that what an elected representative should do? We elect a President to represent us in government. If we change our mind on an issue, would we rather have that President stubbornly continue to do things the old way, or would we rather have him listen to his constituency? I don't see how anyone can say that Bush's "strong leadership" has been good for America. He rules with "core convictions" that won't change. If all of the sudden republicans started opposing nation building again, do you really think Bush would stay in Iraq? No. Shifting political stances is part of representing your constituents in a democracy. Arg.
